About the Department

The Department of Geography in Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya, Kailashahar is one the youngest Department of the College. With the opening of subject Geography as general course in the Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya, the institute has become the 4^th College to offer both Honours and Pass course in the State of Tripura after Women College, MBB College of Agartala and Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar College of Belonia. In the Districts of North, Dhalai and Unakoti, the Department of Geography in Ram Krishna Mahavidyalaya stands as the sole opportunity for the aspiring students who want to pursue their academic carrier in the subject Geography.   The subject Geography was first introduced as ‘PASS ELECTIVE COURSE in the August session, 2014 during the maiden introduction of Under Graduate 6th Semester Course (Bachelor Degree) under Tripura University. The total seats allotted were 30 seats for the pass course along with some restricted combinations of subjects. In the month of August, 2016, the proposal for opening Honours course was officially accepted; and which thereby opened a new chapter by offering HONOURS COURSE in the College of Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya.

The Department of Geography offers both Honours and Pass course in Geography. The First batch of Pass Course was primarily introduced in the year of 2014. In the Year 2016, the first Honours Course was introduced and which thereby the institute has become the 4^th College to offer both  Honours and Pass course and as Full-fledged Department.
